Greenfield Conservation Commission plans public walks to guide Griswold forest management. The panel, meeting March 10 with Chair Elizabeth Garofalo, Vice-Chair Travis Drury, and members Erika LaForme and Emily Boss, will host four to six educational walks at the conservation area this spring to gather community input for an updated forest stewardship plan. Walks are funded through the state's Climate Forestry Program and local conservation-area reserves and will cover topics including bird habitat, climate resilience, and invasive species management.
Commission Agent Jessica Siegel also reported on a Green River Corridor conservation grant from Franklin Regional County of Governments.
