Greenfield Conservation Commission continued a public hearing on a proposed 52 River Street pavilion. The proposed 40-by-80-foot structure, intended to store non-hazardous materials, sits partially in the Riverfront Area on land containing state Priority and Estimated Habitat. Conservation Agent Jessica Siegel reported that the Western Massachusetts Wetlands Circuit Rider recommended an enforcement order for violations under the Wetlands Protection Act and habitat law, with aerial photos from 1990 through 2025 documenting the cleared storage area expanding closer to the river.
The Commission voted unanimously to continue the hearing to May 12, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
