Planning Board approves extension for temporary shelter at 6 Arch Street
Planning Board · Meeting of February 5, 2026
Greenfield Planning Board unanimously backs four-month extension for temporary shelter at 6 Arch Street. The board voted 4-0 to extend Clinical and Support Options' site plan approval for the 45-bed shelter through August 17, 2026, while CSO's primary facility undergoes construction. CSO provides housing, meals, laundry, and supportive services, with average stays of 102 days.
Despite public objections citing Dover Amendment and ADA compliance concerns, board members determined that infrastructure issues fall outside the Planning Board's regulatory scope and that the permitted use had been affirmed by the Zoning Board of Appeals.
