Planning Board endorses Silver Street development plan

Planning Board · Meeting of January 21, 2026

GREENFIELD — Planning Board unanimously endorses lot division plan for Silver Street development. Chair Jeff Sauser's five-member board voted 5:0:0 to endorse an Approval Not Required plan for 277 Silver Street, clearing a state subdivision requirement independent of an earlier Special Permit condition. Director Ella Wise, newly hired as the City's Planning and Development director, explained the ANR plan satisfies Massachusetts General Law Chapter 41 requirements.

The board devoted substantial time to design review for downtown Greenfield, instructing Director Wise to test potential conditions against the One Main Street site plan and compile zoning recommendations from multiple strategic plans spanning 2014 through 2024.
