GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Board of Licensing tabled a door-to-door solar solicitation certificate and approved a run of Halloween-week street-closure permits. Members said they wanted James Lamoureux of Trinity Solar LLC to appear in person after a vote to grant his certificate drew multiple abstentions; the board tabled it to its November 17 meeting instead. The board separately approved permits closing Sanderson Street October 29, Linden Avenue and Chapman Street October 31, and granted the Center School's Spooky Sprint and Trunk or Treat for October 25.
Resident Ann Taylor said her Linden Avenue block party was "mainly just a way for kids to trick-or-treat safely." The board also approved an Eversource utility pole on Shelburne Road, confirmed a 2 a.m. New Year's Eve closing time for bars, and locked in three 2027 Franklin County Fair licenses for the Franklin County Agricultural Society, whose Michael Nelson pegged fair attendance at "about 25,000 over the four days."
