GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Conservation Commission ordered two property owners to hire wetland scientists after reports of tree-cutting and dumping near town waterways. Commissioners unanimously approved enforcement orders for 63 and 67 Fort Square West and for parcel 107-22-0 on Clark Street, setting an October 27 deadline to engage a scientist, November 10 for delineation results and November 24 for a final remediation plan. Vice Chair Travis Drury moved both Clark Street and Woodard Road measures; member Erika LaForme moved the Fort Square West order.
The commission separately granted two negative determinations letting a storage facility at 78 Woodard Road replace an old fence and hedge, conditioned on native Franklin County plantings and a four-to-six-inch wildlife gap. A third case, tree removal at 123-125 Harrison Avenue, was held for DEP or legal guidance. The agent also floated new application fees, citing certified-mail abutter costs of "almost $11" per letter and $1,300 for one prior project.
