Sustainability panel approves minutes, plans annual report
Other Committee 2026-09-24 Part 2 · Meeting of September 24, 2026
Greenfield's sustainability committee starts drafting its first annual report to the mayor since 2018. The Sustainable Greenfield Implementation Committee approved amended minutes from July 23 and August 27 meetings by 6-1 roll-call votes, then spent 30 minutes brainstorming accomplishments for the report, including the opening of 60 Wells Street with 40 shelter beds and 36 single-occupancy units, a $20,000 Community Preservation Act appropriation for the Miller's Meadow project, and a 365-day moratorium on data centers. Member Bram Moranis said the 2018 report "was a data dump and it wasn't really helpful to anyone," while Nancy Hazard argued the new report should credit concrete wins like the Wells Street opening.
The committee also finalized November 5 date and logistics for its 2027 Energy Fair table and confirmed FRTA's Michael Perrault will return as a guest speaker in October. Members will review a fuller draft report at their October 22 meeting.
