Other Committee · Meeting of July 7, 2026

Greenfield board endorses city's pursuit of a legislative liquor license for Bear's Den. A Greenfield municipal board voted 4-0 twice on July 7 to advance liquor licensing for Gleason Ventures LLC's proposed Bear's Den venue, first endorsing the city's petition to the Massachusetts legislature for a license outside the standard population-based quota, then formally accepting the return of a dormant license formerly held by an entity associated with a business called Seymour's. Applicant Adam Gleason told board member Phil Cornett that the legislative process "doesn't affect the seasonal process," suggesting a soft opening near August 1 could still proceed on a separate licensing track.

The nine-minute meeting was called on short notice, with a board member at adjournment noting that Gleason's team "really appreciate" the board's quick turnaround.
