Greenfield Council Chairs Route Budget Items, Map Out May-June Review Schedule

Other Committee · Meeting of May 5, 2026

Greenfield City Council Committee Chairs mapped out a multi-week budget review schedule and resolved several procedural questions at their May 5 meeting. Council Vice President Garrett, Councilor Bullock, and Councilor Brown attended in person, with Council President Wondoloski joining by remote; Councilor Golub was absent. The chairs assigned pending business across committees, routing Valley Health Regional Collaborative fund authorization and CPA appropriations to Ways and Means, zoning amendments to the Economic Development Committee for discussion only, and appointments to Administration and Operations.

Ways and Means is scheduled to hear capital budget recommendations May 5, public safety and DPW on May 11 beginning at 5:30 p.m., and school and CPA items on May 19. City Clerk Scott reported the council is moving toward a 48-hour agenda-posting rule, replacing the current five-day window, a change that will require a public hearing to amend the rules of procedure. A state representative candidate who requested a formal council appearance was directed instead to the three-minute public comment period, with chairs citing fairness concerns about giving one candidate a platform over others in the race.
